Nine primary professions – which one suits you?
You still choose two primary professions. What’s new is mostly that crafting, gathering and camping work together more closely.

Useful profession combinations
If you want to play as independently as possible, combine a crafting profession with the matching raw material source. Enchanting and tailoring work well together because neither needs a gathering profession.

Frequently asked questions about professions
How many professions can a character learn?
Two primary professions, plus the secondary skills Cooking, First Aid and Fishing. Gathering professions like Mining count as a primary profession. Ranks are Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Artisan. To unlearn one open the professions window (K) and click the “X” next to it.
How high can I skill my professions?
The cap at launch is 300 skill points. Recipes are colored orange, yellow, green and grey: orange always gives a skill point, grey never.
Do I need a profession for camping?
The Basic Campfire is made with Cooking – a secondary skill that does not use a primary profession slot. Camp objects come from your profession (from skill 20); if you do not have a matching profession you still benefit from other players’ objects.
What does the “NEW” tag on recipes mean?
These recipes only exist in WoW Forever – they are new compared to the classic game. The source is the beta data.
How current is the data?
The recipes come from the beta data. Individual values, recipes and specializations may still change before release. We update the database with every major beta patch.
